GPU Server on L40S
A server-class configuration for production AI, inference, RAG and multiple users with predictable performance.
What it is
The L40S is a data-centre GPU with 48 GB GDDR6 per card, optimised for inference and mixed workloads. In 1–4 GPU configurations it forms a production contour capable of serving dozens of concurrent users.
When it fits
- Production AI at department-to-company scale
- RAG over large document sets
- Mixed workloads: LLM + vision + embeddings
- Multi-tenant AI services
What to keep in mind
- Requires data-centre conditions: power, cooling, acoustics
- Optimised for inference, not training
- For very large LLMs, H200 can be more efficient
- Architecture must be designed around the workload, not the other way around
Frequent questions
L40S or H100 — which one?+
For most inference scenarios, L40S delivers better price/performance. H100/H200 are justified for training or very large models at high concurrency.
Can L40S be used for computer vision?+
Yes. L40S is well-suited for CV workloads thanks to FP16/INT8 throughput and memory. It is often used in mixed contours.
How many users can 4× L40S serve?+
It depends on model, context and query profile. Realistically, 40–100 concurrent users on assistant-style workloads. Final sizing comes after workload analysis.
